WHERE TO EAT IN MUI NE
The strip of restaurants running from the southern to mid-southern end of Nguyen Dinh Chieu is a good place to start, with a cosmopolitan range of cuisine and flavours available.
Vietnamese options are plentiful and range from small family restaurants to two-storey complexes on the non-beach side of the road. A very cheap and satisfying option is Lam Tong, just next to Jibes and on the beach side of Nguyen Dinh Chieu. This is a traditional family-run Vietnamese restaurant with an expansive menu of noodles, soups, hotpots, seafood and meat/fish dishes.
Rung Forest offers higher-end Vietnamese food with nightly traditional Cham music and dancing. The Golden Sand Saloon Resort is an all-singing, all-dancing restaurant with a large choice of dishes. The speciality here is seafood, with the barbecue display of freshly caught fish and shellfish tempting passing customers. Cheap local eats are also on offer at 211 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, where delicious plates are 20,000 VND a pop, while also worth seeking out is the banh mi thit nuong lady at 74 Nguyen Dinh Chieu.
Authentic wood fired pizza is on offer at both Santimatti and Luno Automno, while Good Morning Vietnam is also a popular Italian choice further down the road.
For Western-style meals, including a full cooked breakfast available all day and jumbo ribs, try Hot Rock, a well established and well known eatery in the heart of the strip. A couple of Indian restaurants are in town but we really recommend Shree Ganesh. All the naans, curries and poppadoms are cooked by an Indian chef and the mains start at a reasonable 60,000 VND and top out at around 150,000. Looking for cheap and tasty? Head to Sindbad for their gigantic shawarmas and wraps starting at 60,000 VND. A great cup of coffee can be found at Katie’s Coffee House and they also have some tasty house-made desserts and pastries.

BARS
For nightlife, options are limited, but that doesn”t mean a good time can”t be had. What with the local community of kite surfers and expats, and the constant flow of tourists and backpackers, there”s always some action to be found in Mui Ne.
A great place to start out the night is Joe’s Place for sundown beers, with a well-attended happy hour, though Breeze Bar probably takes the prize for best sundown drinks. Set up on a hill, the bar has some of the best views in town. Mellow Bungalows have a friendly bar area and a pool table, a good place to get chatting with some local kite surfing enthusiasts or fellow backpackers heading out for the night. Directly across the road is all-bamboo The Sand Dollar, another place to go mid-evening for happy hour and streetside viewing. Guava is a little further along and looks very posh.
Popular with residents and visitors alike, Wax throws themed party nights on the weekends when the area swells with Saigonese weekenders. Another late night option is Jibe”s, a cafe/bar/kite surfing school/nightclub. European DJs bang out different tunes every night until the wee hours here, or come earlier to enjoy the happy hour from 19:00-22:00. Chillout Bar is also another option for those late nighters. Drinks are absurdly cheap and they also serve some of the best (if not the only) shisha in town. The kitchen stays open late as well.
